Best Smoothie Blender Ever Jul 06, 2008 However very noisy, the blender sets out to to the job it is designed for; a fabulous smooth drink. The price tag is high, but the blender is all worth it. You will not be disappointed.
Very good smoothie blender Jul 04, 2008 We got this blender to make smoothies after my wife got addicted to the smoothie place next door. It does a brilliant job in just seconds of mixing however much you like. It is very stable and easy to wash, everything except the motor can go in the dishwasher.
I read negative reviews about the noise, but it is not as bad as I was expecting, you can talk in the same kitchen with it going.

Worked For Three Weeks Jul 01, 2008 I received the blender on 06/04/08 and began using it shortly thereafter to make daily smoothies. However, on 06/27/08 I noticed that the blades had stopped turning. When I took the blender apart, I noticed that the silver thing that fits into the center of the base (the drive?)--was no longer attached and could not turn the blades. I was very disappointed because I expected great things with such a powerful motor.
Amazon gave me the option of replacement or refund. I'm going to try the blender again. If this one does the same thing, I will request a refund.

Efficient, Powerful and yes... Very Loud! Jul 01, 2008 Had this unit for approximately three months now. It is frequently used to blend soups and make smoothies. It performs admirably at that.
The base construction seems very solid -- no visible plastic parts.
The top rubber cover seems a bit flimsy, but it seals the container well. No problems so far. Bottom sealing is also good, no leaks.
As others mentioned, it is very loud. The first time I used it my ears went *click*... :) But given the price and performance, I can live with that.
The blender is "assembled in Mexico". If you're looking for something made in USA, Canada or Europe, look elsewhere.
I did quite a bit of research before settling on this particular model. My previous Braun blender -- Braun MX2050 PowerMax 525-Watt 58-Ounce Jug Blender -- was a piece of plastic, leaky garbage. Bought it based on recommendation by Consumer Reports, to which I no longer subscribe.
I also considered getting a VitaMix, but wanted a glass jar instead of polycarbonate due to health concerns. There is also a healthy price premium for (supposedly) the top brand in blenders. Customer reviews weren't particularly rave when it came to product support by Vitamix, so I decided to save some cash and get an Oster instead.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. It is a great deal for a powerful, solidly built blender that produces great results. The only drawback is loud operation. 4/5 stars.
Pretty good! Jun 23, 2008 I've had this blender for about a year now. I use it a few times a week to make smoothies. The pros: it makes great smoothies, is simple w/ 2 settings, has a glass beehive container which I prefer to plastic, and is easily to clean as it is dishwasher safe. The cons: it is very loud so I plug my ears, sometimes the ice gets stuck at the bottom and you have to stir it (but usually this means the smoothie requires more liquid anyway) and the base (black part) is made of plastic which I didn't expect but not very important to me. For the price, I would recommend! If you want more (and willing to pay more), maybe consider a Vitamix.
